Constellation

What are we building?

Larry Jones

The connections between worlds

Constellation and Void Projects as a whole is an effort to utilize our understanding as developers to fix some of the most frustrating parts of our job. We have worked in environments where documentation, code changes, business context, and original intent are captured in disjointed systems, and we spend more time navigating them than actually writing the solution.

We have come to describe this trudge through context as yelling into the void.

With Constellation, we bring together these disjointed contexts across worlds (Jira, Azure DevOps, Github, SQL Server, Raw Code, Confluence) into what we call Universes of connected Galaxies you can now programatically traverse. The question of why a stored procedure is the way it is becomes a query rather than a series of meetings. Who you should talk to about a production problem with an application is no longer sifting through SharePoint documents or Confluence spaces; it is now a single query that traverses The Void.

Humans & AI

While working on this, we learned this problem really hurts human productivity, but it decimates AI functionality. A human can navigate to an answer via meetings, manually opening disjointed systems, and otherwise piecing together answers. AI fundamentally fails without relative context.

Constellation now gives AI, like humans, a single point to query for relationships from data points in stored procedures to ideation in Jira.

Constellation

We’ve been yelling into the void for a long time.

Now we make it answer.
